Diplomat Hotel, Sliema, Malta
Official Rating: Four Stars
The Diplomat Hotel, situated in the heart of Sliema, has a superb sea front position on the Prestigious Sliema Promenade. It offers facilities and every modern convenience required by business and leisure travellers alike.
This Hotel in Sliema is ideally located with excellent rock beach bathing facilities and a beach lido just across the road. It is also close to various theme bars and restaurants and to the centre of Sliema, well known for its extensive range of activities.
A stroll from the Diplomat Hotel to the left leads towards the popular resort of St Julian’s (a ten minute walk), the Dragonara Casino, a bowling alley, cinemas and also a sandy beach. Walking to the right into the centre of Sliema, one can visit the shopping malls, designer shops and various boutiques. The main bus route to Valletta, the Capital City of Malta, St Julian’s and the north of Malta runs just outside the hotel.
This is a top location; you will find you are in the middle of Sliema’s promenade, which means you are a short walk away from The Strand or ‘The Ferries’. This is where the chic cafes, shops and boutiques are found – Maltese society congregates here and it is a perfect place to see and be seen. St Julian’s is about a 15 minute walk in the other direction – the locale includes a 20 lane ten-pin bowling alley and a multi-screen cinema complex, shopping centres, casinos and some of Malta’s finest restaurants. The Paceville area in St Julian’s will thrill anyone who loves nightlife; with its candlelit, neon or al fresco bars and slinky clubs – the later it gets, the livelier they get.
There is a regular boat ferry service from the Strand to Valletta, a very short journey to a fascinating World Heritage site.
The bus stop near the hotel, makes it is reasonably easy to get to most parts of the Island.
