Kempinski Hotel Outdoor Pool Gozo

Location

Gozo has a well earned reputation as a restful haven and an ideal holiday destiantion for relaxation and recharging one's batteries. The island offers a wonderful natural sanctuary, guests unwind and gradually forget about their mobiles, emails and laptops and slip into an altogether easier tempo where the stresses of everyday life melt away. Gozo also enjoys a reputation as an island of considerable natual beauty - it's stunning seascapes and interior immediately impress upon arrival, however, there is much more to Gozo than relaxation and lovely vistas. Much of its true beauty is revealed only when one explores its welcoming villages. Here, time really does seem to stand still and the locals are only too happy to share their villages' peace and tranquility and with the islands' appreciative guests.

Village bars open early to cater for early risers and close fairly late at night, catering for the very social culture of the island and providing a place for locals and visitors to sit and watch the day take its course. These traditional watering holes have remained unchanged for decades, and offer a real taste of the local culture and history - with island sourced food and drink displayed on old solid shelves and in Edwardian glass cases.

Gozo is a mere14km in length and just 7km wide - the sea, bars, shops and some of the finest restaurants in the Mediterranean are never more than a 15 minutes drive away. Low cost public transport is available, however car hire is relatively inexpensive and provides an opportunity for a more independent exploration of the island's hidden treasures. All roads in Gozo lead to Victoria, also known as Rabat, which is where the fortified citadel sits atop a summit. It is a great place to watch the Islanders go about their day, especially when the main market square, It-Tokk, comes to life. The town also has a thriving cultural life all its own, with some surprising attractions ranging from opera to horse races in the main street on festa day. Ggantija Neolithic temples, the island's oldest man made structure and a World Heritage Site, is a short bus ride away from the Victoria bus terminus.

The Kempinski San Lawrenz is situated below the tallest hill in Gozo, Ta’Dbiegi. It is also the closest village to Dwerja Bay, the Azzure Window and Fungus Rock. The Hotel is on the bus route to Victoria and a bus stop is nearby (100m). Car parking is available within the hotel. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service at pre-arranged times to the major beaches and attractions of the Island.

Gozo is about a 1.5 hour transfer from Malta International Airport by road, including the 25 minute ferry crossing from Cirkewwa in Malta to Mgarr in Gozo.
