Waterfront Hotel, Sliema, Malta
Official Rating: Four Stars
The hotel provides modern accommodation in a convenient location for exploring the island. The centre of Sliema, one of Malta`s most popular resorts, is just a short stroll away, the rest of the island can be visited by public transport easily or explore the remarkable harbours on one of the many boat tours found in the vicinity of the hotel. Relax on the roof top poolside bar and enjoy the vista of the harbour and the historic Valletta skyline.

Very clean hotel with friendly staff would definitely recommend - View over Sliema Creek from front bedrooms is fantastic.

Excellent room on 5th floor overlooking harbour. All staff encountered pleasant and helpful. Food selection excellent and special offers on dinner tempted us to use the hotel dining room all the week although we were only booked B & B.

Very friendly Hotel and good value for money.

A bright sparkling Hotel with excellent staff in all areas. We enjoyed our first stay at the Waterfront and found it to be well suited to our needs as we are not as energetic these days. With flat even pathways in Gzira/Sliema and easy access to the new buses we were very happy.

The team at The Waterfront always give a high standard of service even when extremely busy, particularly the reception staff, the bar staff and the people in Basilico Restaurant and Star Cafe. I commend them all for their commitment to satisfying the needs of their clients. By the way, it is worth noting how very popular Basilico and Star Cafe are with Maltese local residents as well as with hotel guests. It speaks volumes that the Maltese residents think these two eateries are worth using.
The trip to Sicily on the fabulous new catamaran ferry, Jean De La Vallette, is great just for the ferry crossings alone. Beautiful vessel. NOTE: Seniors get discounted fares.
The Red Bus Route south of the island tour has diminished in relative value comparing 2011 with 2009. The new Arriva operated bus system is still experiencing scheduling problems but when it works it is excellent. Sliema is plagued with hawkers. Good idea to walk on the Forestal's side of the road to avoid them. The Point shopping mall at Tigne Point is smart.

Lovely friendly hotel. With excellent staff. If you are looking for a pool with sport activities, then this is not for you. It is a small roof top pool. Not ideal for children.

We were totally satisfied with the holiday, the arrangements and ease of booking. We thought the price for the holiday was very fair and everything was as expected. Ideally situated for sight seeing, visiting Valetta and accessing boat and open topped bus trips. Clean and comfortable hotel with nice views of the bay from front and restaurant. We stayed half board and food choice would suit most tastes and catered for vegetarians. There was also a pizza restaurant which could be accessed from main street or hotel which provided a tasty snack or salad at reasonable prices. The staff were polite and pleasant. If you are a person who enjoys spending a lot of time around the pool area, this may not be suitable as the pool is just adequate and situated on the roof which can seem windy at times. We throughly enjoyed our holiday in Malta. This was our first visit to the island and I thought it was an enjoyable, hassle free holiday with lots of lovely places to visit around the island. If you enjoy walking you can do plenty here in the evening, just strolling along the promenade is pleasant and picturesque.
