| THE CITADEL, VICTORIA GOZO
| |
|
A considerable portion of the citadel is still in ruins following the disastrous raid of 1551, the 1693 earthquake, and many years of neglect. The paved passage-ways, which were the Citadel streets, can still be seen among the wreckage and the rubble of the ruined houses inside the walled fortress.

BIRDS LINKING COUNTRIES |
|
Every autumn millions of birds leave Europe and head south in search of a more hospitable place away from the cold and lack of food that European winter brings with it. Many migratory birds spend the winter in Africa after crossing the Mediterranean Sea and the Sahara Desert.
