The MV Ta Pinu is back in service, after two hoistable decks were fitted to give it a new carrying capacity of 150 vehicles, compared to the previous capacity of 80. While at the Palumbo shipyard, the ship also underwent a refurbishment program, where passenger areas were upgraded. The total investment was €4 million. Now that the Ta Pinu is back in service, Gozo Channel can go back to providing its ferry service using three ships - MV Ta Pinu, MV Gaudos and MV Malita. Chairman of the Gozo Channel Paul Curmi said that the Gozo Channel would retain the same timetable and would always respond to the needs of its clients to supply an efficient service.
