Terms and Conditions of Travel
________________________________________
Checked Baggage
Checked Baggage is any item accepted for carriage in the aircraft hold, including bags, infant pushchairs, musical/ sports and mobility equipment.
No pooling or sharing of baggage allowances is permitted, even within a party travelling on the same reservation.
Any passenger exceeding their 15kg personal checked baggage allowance will be charged for the excess at the currently applicable rate of £7.50/€10.00 per kilo (or local currency equivalent).
There is no checked baggage allowance for infants. However, one fully collapsible pushchair per infant may be carried free of charge. Additional infant equipment such as car/booster seats and travel cots are charged at £6.00/€9.00 per item/per one way flight. If infant equipment fees are paid for at the airport or through a Ryanair call centre, the standard rate of £12.00/€18.00 per item/per one way flight will apply.
Mobility Equipment is carried free of charge.
Sporting or musical equipment including but not limited to large fishing rods, golf clubs, bicycles, scooters, fencing equipment, surfboards, bodyboards, snowboards and skis and large musical instruments including but not limited to harps, double bass and drums are inherently unsuitable for carriage by airlines operating fast turnarounds such as Ryanair. However these items may be carried in the hold of the aircraft in addition to your personal checked baggage allowance upon payment of an additional charge of £25.00/€30.00 per item, per one way flight or £30.00/€40.00 per item, per one way flight at the airport. Smaller musical items such as a guitar, cello, violin or viola which exceed our cabin baggage dimensions may be carried in the cabin if a seat for it has been reserved and the appropriate fare paid. There is no checked baggage allowance associated with the purchase of an extra seat.
For health and safety reasons Ryanair does not accept for carriage any individual item exceeding 32 kilos or with combined dimensions of more than 81cms (height), 119cms (width) and 119cms (depth). This weight limit does not apply to mobility equipment.
Ryanair does not accept responsibility for unsuitably packed, perishable, damaged, or fragile baggage or for minor damage to the exterior of baggage (e.g. scratches, stains, soiling, dents) resulting from normal wear and tear.
See paragraph below headed 'Prohibited Articles' for items not permitted in the cabin and/or aircraft hold.
Cabin Baggage
One item of cabin baggage per person, weighing no more than 10kg and with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm, may be carried into the aircraft cabin free of charge (due to security restrictions - certain items cannot be carried in cabin baggage).
Airport Check-In
Each passenger checking in at the airport is subject to an Airport Check-In fee per one way flight of £3.00/€4.00 (or local currency equivalent) which is payable at the time of flight reservation.
Standard opening of check-in desks is 2 hours prior to scheduled time of departure.
Ryanair recommends that passengers check in two hours prior to scheduled departure. Check-in desks close strictly 40 minutes before scheduled departure. We reserve the right to cancel your reservation and deny you boarding if you do not comply with the Check-in Deadline.
Reduced mobility, blind/vision impaired, Medical Conditions or Passengers requiring special assistance in the airport
For safety reasons Ryanair can carry only a maximum of four passengers per flight who have either reduced mobility, or are blind/visually impaired travelling with a guide dog or alone or require special assistance at the airport. Such passengers (including in the case of those who are blind/vision impaired if travelling with a sighted companion) should notify Ryanair of their condition/requirements on the day of booking via your local Ryanair call centre. Failure to prebook may result in the service being unavailable on your arrival at the airport and your being refused carriage.
Ryanair for safety reasons does not permit passengers to bring their own oxygen on board. If oxygen is required for use during the flight it must be reserved for a fee of £100/€148 (or local currency equivalent) directly with Ryanair preferably on the same day of booking or at the latest 7 days prior to travel. We cannot have more that one oxygen request per flight. Passengers requiring oxygen must carry a letter from their doctor confirming that they are fit to travel and that the oxygen flow we provide is suitable for their patient. Passengers will not be accepted for travel without this letter.
Due to health and safety requirements special assistance passengers are required to check-in at the airport (any airport check-in fee paid on booking will be refunded at the time that the special services are booked).
Documentation and Advance Passenger Information
It is the passenger's personal responsibility to ensure that they have valid documentation which meets the requirements of Ryanair, immigration and other governmental authorities at every destination. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of breach of this requirement shall be paid by or charged to you. In order to ensure compliance Ryanair recommends that you carry your valid passport (and visa if applicable) on all journeys.
All passengers must present valid photo identification at check-in for all flights. The only acceptable forms of photo-ID on Ryanair flights are:
A valid passport (passport for travel outside the EEA must have six months validity beyond the date of entry).
A valid National Identity Card issued by the government of a European Economic Area (EEA) country. Children under the age of 14 years must always be accompanied on the same reservation by a passenger over 16 years.
Unaccompanied minors aged 14 or 15 years travelling must present the required valid photo-ID at check-in. The parent or guardian of the unaccompanied minors, are required to remain in the airport until the flight has departed.
For safety reasons infants under the age of 8 days cannot be accepted for travel. Children aged between 8 days and 2 years as at date of travel cannot travel in their own seat and must sit on an adult's lap. No baby/car seats are allowed in the cabin of the aircraft. No extra seats may be booked for infants. Infants do not qualify for any baggage allowance. If the infant reaches the age of 2 years prior to the return journey they must pay the applicable fare, taxes, fees and charges for that part of the journey. Proof of age may be required so please have the infant's valid photo-ID available for inspection (or birth certificate if traveling on a route that does not require valid photo-ID i.e. Ireland-UK Ireland, UK domestic or Italian domestic flights).

For uncomplicated single pregnancies, Ryanair restricts travel beyond the end of the 36th week, and for twins, triplets etc., beyond the end of the 32nd week. Once your pregnancy has entered its 28th week, we ask that you carry with you a letter from your obstetrician stating the pregnancy is uncomplicated and confirming the expected date of delivery. In this letter, the doctor should state that you are in good health, that he/she is happy for you to fly, and that in his/her opinion there is no reason why you cannot fly.
'Point-to-Point' Airline
Ryanair is strictly a 'point-to-point' airline. We therefore do not offer, and cannot facilitate, the transfer of passengers or their baggage to other flights, whether operated by Ryanair or other carriers. You should therefore not book onward flights with Ryanair or indeed with any other air or surface carrier.
Surface links
All rail and coach transfers detailed on ryanair.com or promoted by Ryanair are operated independently of the airline and Ryanair is not responsible for the performance or otherwise of these third part operators.
Ryanair is not responsible for late, cancelled or incorrectly featured transfer information.
Smoking and beverages
You may not smoke in any part of an aircraft operated by Ryanair. Failure to adhere to this regulation may result in severe criminal penalties being brought against you as well as disruption costs being claimed against you by Ryanair.
Any passenger who attempts to smoke on a Ryanair flight will be refused carriage with Ryanair in the future.
Passengers are prohibited from consuming their own alcohol on board.
In the interest of safety passengers are prohibited from carrying hot drinks on board.
Mobile phones etc
Mobile Phones and Personal Electronic Devices ('PEDs') equipped with wireless phone connections may be carried only in cabin baggage but must be switched off once the aircraft doors are closed for departure. These items must not be used during flight.
Medical syringes
If for medical reasons, passengers need to inject themselves during the flight (e.g. diabetics) they are permitted to carry syringes in the cabin. They will be asked to produce appropriate medical evidence (a doctor's letter will suffice) when they check in or at security screenings. This should be kept with them at all times.
ATOL Information
Flights booked directly from an airline are not ATOL protected, even if you book accommodation from another company via a link accessed from an airline website. If you make payment by credit card it can provide financial protection: please check with your credit card provider for details. If you do not pay for your flight by credit card, you may wish to take out a travel insurance policy that includes scheduled airline failure cover.
Air Carrier Information
All flights offered for sale on the Ryanair website are scheduled to be operated by Boeing 737-800 aircraft operated by Ryanair Limited.

Air Carrier Liability for Passengers and their Baggage
________________________________________
This information notice summarises the liability rules applied by Community air carriers as required by Community legislation and the Montreal Convention 1999.
Compensation in the case of death or injury
There are no financial limits to the liability for passenger injury or death. For damages up to 100,000 Special Drawing Rights ("SDRs") (approximately £76,500/€113,000) the air carrier cannot contest claims for compensation. Above that amount, the air carrier can defend itself against a claim by proving that it was not negligent or otherwise at fault.
Advance payments
If a passenger is killed or injured, the air carrier must make an advance payment, to cover immediate economic needs, within 15 days from the identification of the person entitled to compensation. In the event of death, this advance payment shall not be less than 16,000 SDRs (approximately £12,250/€18,000).
Passenger delays
In the case of passenger delay, the air carrier is liable for damage unless it took all reasonable measures to avoid the damage or it was impossible to take such measures. The liability for passenger delay is limited to 4,150 SDRs (approximately £3,180/€4,700).
Baggage delays
In the case of baggage delay, the air carrier is liable for damage unless it took all reasonable measures to avoid the damage or it was impossible to take such measures. The liability for baggage delay is limited to 1,000 SDRs (approximately £765/€1,130).
Destruction, loss or damage to baggage
The air carrier is liable for destruction, loss or damage to baggage up to 1,000 SDRs (approximately £765/€1,130). In the case of checked baggage, it is liable even if not at fault, unless the baggage was defective. In the case of unchecked baggage, the carrier is liable only if at fault.
Higher limits for baggage
A passenger can benefit from a higher liability by making a special declaration at the latest at check-in and by paying a supplementary fee of £68/€100.
Complaints on baggage
If the baggage is damaged, delayed, lost or destroyed, the passenger must write and complain to the air carrier as soon as possible. In the case of damage to checked baggage, the passenger must write and complain within 7 days and in the case of delay within 21 days, in both cases from the date on which the baggage was placed at the passenger's disposal.
Liability of contracting and actual carriers
If the air carrier actually performing the flight is not the same as the contracting air carrier, the passenger has the right to address a complaint or to make a claim for damages against either. If the name or code of an air carrier is indicated on the ticket, that air carrier is the contracting air carrier.
Time limitation for action
Any action in court to claim damages must be brought within two years from the date of arrival of the aircraft, or from the date on which the aircraft ought to have arrived.
Basis for the above information
The basis of the rules described above in the Montreal Convention of 28 May1999, which is implemented in the Community by Regulation (EC) No2027/97 (as amended by Regulation (EC) No889/2002) and the national legislation of the Member states.
