The Malta Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Tourism will this year be organizing the 22nd edition of the Malta International Choir Festival between October 29th and November 1st 2016.
The organizers feel that the Malta international Choir Festival is perfect for those who will or may want to visit Malta at that time of year. For holiday makers that are still enjoying their summer holiday with slightly cooler temperatures, this event is one of many reasons why Malta is the perfect destination.
The choir festival is spread over four days and shall take place mainly in Valletta and Floriana; both are easily reached from anywhere. Most events are free of charge and take place in city squares, theatre halls and churches. There is also a very unique “Singing and Praying for Peace Ceremony” which is held in the evening on the Thursday 29th October inside the magnificent St John’s Co-Cathedral.
It doesn’t stop there, this year you will also have the chance to see a special choir participating in the Grand Concert: The National Youth Chamber Choir of Great Britain which, as you may or may not know, is a world class choir. They will be performing at the University Theatre on Saturday. This is the only item on the programme which is attended against an admission fee. There will also be the competitive programme which will be free of charge.
You may wish to access the entire programme from their website: www.maltachoirfest.com.
