Best of Gozo & Comino

In the morning you board one of the Captain Morgan’s vessels which departs from the Sliema Creek,Malta Cruise Tours cruising towards the island of Comino, passing Comino through the north Comino channel towards the Island of Gozo, which is also known as the island of Calypso. On arrival at the Mgarr Harbour you will be welcomed by a representative who will drive you around this beautiful island. You will first drive through the village of Xewkija where you drive past the largest church in Gozo which also boasts being the third largest unsupported dome in the world, then you will have the pleasure to taste Gozitan products and have a look around an Artisan Centre, followed by the village of Gharb, where you will see the famous Ta’ Pinu Church. You will then proceed to the Capital City, Victoria, home of the Citadel.

After visiting this mythical island, you will proceed to Mgarr Harbour for your transfer to the Blue Lagoon. You will be informed which Captain Morgan vessel to board following a one hour stop for swimming and / or sightseeing at the famous Blue Lagoon on Comino Island. The Blue Lagoon is famous for its turquoise, bluish-green crystal clear waters… truly, Malta’s paradise!

We leave Comino and head towards Sliema once again via the north-east coast of Malta. On our way back, we cruise past Mellieha Bay, St Paul’s Islands, Bahar ic-Caghaq, St. Andrews, St. Julians, the Sliema Promenade and finally Tigne Point to Sliema Creek.

We visit a local open market, where one can spend about an hour amongst the hustle and bustle of buyers and sellers. Lunch will be served on board the Captain Morgan vessel. You then depart for a Harbour Cruise where our guide will explain the history of Valletta and the Three Cities connected with the Great Siege of 1565 and 1942, and all other places of interest including the historical forts, battlements and creeks.

This ever-popular Jeep Safari has been planned to show you the most beautiful parts of our islands which are rarely visited by tourists. Avoiding all the usual tourist sites and concentrating on an action-packed day full of scenic beauty and fun. A professional Safari leader will guide you throughout the day via radio taking you to places that even most local people do not know exist. A stop for swimming is also programmed. You will be served a typical lunch where one may sample a large selection of local specialities. The Jeep Safari is ideal for all age groups and it is superb way of getting to know Malta and Gozo. The Gozo Jeep Safari is probably the best way to see the island of Gozo. You will be taken to all the places of interestJeep Safari Malta & Gozo Malta's sister island can offer and drive through beautiful countryside, valleys, taking different routes from your ‘normal’ excursions. You will be collected from your accommodation from 7:00am onwards and taken to the Jeep Safari Terminal (departure point) from where the safari departs for the Gozo Ferry. Upon arrival in Gozo you will start the Safari to discover the magical island of Calypso. You will drive to the village of Qala and then on to Nadur, down to the red sandy beach of Ramla l-Hamra (Ramla Bay) and then on to the very quaint village of Xaghra. From here you go on to Victoria the Capital City of Gozo and stop for a break / lunch. After lunch, head off for Marsalforn which is a very popular tourist town and then on to Dwejra the ‘Inland Sea’. From Marsalforn head to the Fishing Village of Xlendi and then back to the Ferry.

You will be collected from your accommodation at approximately 07:30am and taken to the Jeep Safari Terminal (departure point) where you will start the Safari at 09:15am to discover Malta’s charms. 
You drive to Mizieb and on to the Red Tower and Popeye Village where we will stop to visit (optional). After Popeye Village, we take an exciting (but safe) off road track and make our way to Golden Bay where we will stop for a drink (optional). After we drive to Mgarr and Fomm ir-Rih with its breath-taking views. Then on to the Silent City of Mdina/Mtahleb where we will stop for a visit and then continue to lunch. After lunch, we proceed to Dingli Cliffs with its spectacular views of the island of Filfla. We then move on to the Blue Grotto and then on to Marsaxlokk Fishing Village.

Mosta, MaltaThe tour begins with a visit to Mosta to see the famous Dome, considered to be the third largest in Europe.  Following that, a visit Ta’ Qali Crafts Village to watch local artisans at work, producing typical Maltese ware including glass, silver, and filigree. Free time is allowed for shopping of local products at bargain prices. Afterwards, proceed to the Silent City, Mdina, which has defence bastions dating back to the 9th Century. Walking through the city, you will visit St. Paul’s Cathedral* and the Bastions, which offer a panoramic view of the island. Proceeding to the neighbouring town of Rabat, visit St. Paul’s Grotto before stopping for a typical Maltese lunch in one of the village’s restaurants. You will end the day with a visit to Dingli Cliffs, which offers a spectacular view of the open sea, as well as viewing the Cart Ruts nearby. The tour will also include a 5D show which offers a unique and fascinating journey of discovery around the Maltese islands.

Prehistoric Temples

The tour begins with a trip to the southern part of the island and a visit to the three Megalithic temples of Tarxien, which date back to 3000BC. Hagar Qim Temple, MaltaThe temples are Malta’s most important antiquities and are unique to Malta. Following this, a visit to Għar Dalam, ‘The Cave of Darkness’, and its fossilized remains of prehistoric animals from the glacial period. The tour will end with a visit to the Prehistoric temple Hagar Qim, which was built between 3500 and 3000 BC.  This temple, constructed solely of globigerina limestone, overlooks the islet of Filfla from a high vantage point.

Following lunch, free time will be given, during which time we suggest that you visit Gozo’s Cathedral* in the island’s capital city, Victoria. Tours are not available for clients with accommodation in Gozo. The following are the Terms & Conditions attached to our Tours:

  • By using and booking Tours through SMS Tourism clients will be accepting these booking conditions on their behalf and all other persons using the services pursuant to the booking effected.
  • Excursions are operated all year round however some are subject to weather conditions and, in some cases, having a minimum number of clients on the excursion due to local feasts, public holidays and national festivities some excursions might not be operated. In such situations tours are subject to alteration or cancellation.
  • Although not usual practice, we reserve the right to alter and change the routing or otherwise amend any part of the proposed tour due to unforeseen circumstances.
    We shall not incur any liability towards the client where such alteration is a result of circumstances beyond our control such as strikes, weather conditions, riots, etc.  Notwithstanding anything contained at law any liability we may have for any claim whatsoever is limited to the refund of the price of the excursion ticket.
  • All prices are subject to change without notice.  However any bookings taken and confirmed will be honoured at the prices paid.  Our prices are not subject to any extras apart from those indicated in the tours description. All prices are inclusive of local taxes. However the prices do not include any gratuities for guides and drivers.
  • Pick up location and timings will confirmed on arrival in your welcome pack or by your local representative in resort. It is recommended that clients call the office on (00356) 2577 1481 at least 24 hours before the tour to confirm pick up details.
  • If on the day of the booked excursion clients do not present themselves as indicated this will be considered as a no-show and no refund would be applicable. No refund is given in case a person is not allowed to join a tour for reasons listed in these terms and conditions.
  • SMS shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, illness, delay or expense caused to the client unless this is a result from the proven negligence or deliberate action or omission of the company or its employees. In any event the company’s liability shall in all cases be limited to the sums paid by the client and excludes all indirect or consequential loss or claim of whatever nature. 
    The company relies totally on its suppliers for correct information and whilst all details are given in good faith, the company cannot accept responsibility for any inaccuracies.  Subcontractors may be engaged on behalf of the client.  SMS are operators of land tours but subcontract other suppliers to provide ancillary services.  Our responsibility and liability is restricted to the services provided directly by SMS but full assistance will be given in the event of incidents resulting from services provided by third parties.
  • In the unlikely event that you feel there are aspects about which you wish to complain, your complaint should be made immediately to your guide on tour. This would allow us to verify and assess the possible causes of the complaint and would give SMS the opportunity to resolve the matter in resort.   If the grievance refers to the guide’s services, then clients are requested to call our offices on the following day to discuss details in confidence on telephone number (00356) 2577 1481.
GENERAL NOTES
• Smoking is not permitted on our tours.
• In the interest of safety and comfort of all passengers no food or hot beverages are to be consumed on the coach.
• When entering churches clients are requested to cover arms and not to wear shorts or very short skirts.  Stiletto heels are prohibited in St John’s co-Cathedral in Valletta.
• Clients are advised not to leave any personal belongings on our transport.  We are not responsible for any loss or damage to property during the tour.
• Physically-challenged clients:  we kindly ask you to contact us specifically for such needs to advise which are the best excursions suitable for such clients.
• We reserve the right – at our discretion and upon the recommendation of our guides – to require a person to withdraw from any tour if we deem that their acts or conduct is offensive or a nuisance to other clients and we shall have no further liability.
• Maltese law shall apply.

•Lunch, snacks or any other costs are not included in the price.
•Ferry tickets in the case of Gozo are not included in the price.
•Entrance tickets are not included in the price and would need to be purchased by the client direct during the tour.
