Festas are a regular feature in Malta's calendar of events.

At any time of the year something is happening in Malta and that usually means celebration, fun and merriment. Malta enjoys an events calendar featuring an exciting mix of local and international events. Whatever your particular interest may be, you are certain to find activities to enjoy. Take your pick from performances by international contemporary music stars, classical music concerts and jazz festivals, amongst many others.

Malta's vibrant performing arts scene also offers a surprisingly diverse repertoire of theatre, opera, and dance. Moreover, the Maltese islands play host to an exciting array of international sporting events.

Isle of MTV Malta 27th June 2017

The annual Isle of MTV music event in Malta is an MTV Networks International (MTVNI) production. A world class line up of artistes will play in a free live concert on the Granaries in Floriana in front of a crowd which annually tops the 50,000 mark. 

 

The Malta Summer Carnival 18th-20th August 2017

The Malta Summer Carnival is a summer version of the traditional carnival that is usually held in February.

 

In Guardia Parade 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th June 2017

The IN GUARDIA PARADE is a re-enactment that portrays an authentic event that took place regularly inside Malta’s major fortifications of the Order of St. John. Parade  Re-enactments shall once again be held on frequent basis, until May in Fort St Elmo and inside the Grand Master’s Neptune Courtyard in June until mid-July.  

 

Changing of The Guards 30th June 2017

This ceremony is symbolic of the formal handing over of responsibility from one guard to another at the Presidential Palace in Valletta.

 

Feast of St.Paul 30th June - 2nd July 2017

The Feast of St. Paul is celebrated in the town of Rabat in Malta.

 

Feast of our Lady of the Sacred Heart 30th June - 2nd July 2017

The Feast of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart is celebrated in the town of Sliema in Malta.

The IN GUARDIA PARADE is a re-enactment that portrays an authentic event that took place regularly inside Malta’s major fortifications of the Order of St. John. Re-enactments shall once again be held on frequent basis, until May in Fort St Elmo and inside the Grand Master’s Neptune Courtyard in June until mid-July.

The Feast of the Assumption, also known as the feast of ‘Santa Maria', is celebrated every year on the 15th of August and marks the ascent into heaven by the Virgin Mary. This popular Maltese ‘festa' is the peak of the summer season of religious village feasts and is celbrated in 7 towns and villages: Ghaxaq, Gudja, H'Attard, Mosta, Mqabba and Qrendi in Malta, and Victoria in Gozo. It is also a public holiday.

Like the first Malta Summer Carnival only this one is held, on the promenade of the seaside town of Marsaskala (known also as Wied il-Ghajn).

Mediterranea Festival 28th Oct - 8th Nov 2017

This is an annual celebration of culture let off at the very heart of the Mediterranean, on the history laden island of Gozo.
Mythology has it that the charm of this island aided the most beautiful nymph Calypso to halt Ulysses on his journeys and hair-raising quests, to lull him, lure him away from his travels for seven mystical years.

Bethlehem F'Ghajnsielem 8th December 2017 - 2nd January 2018

Bethlehem f' Ghajnsielem is an animated nativity village spread on 20,000sqm of land. It offers naturalistic reproduction of the environ of Bethlehem and the timeless story of Nativity every December at 'Ta Passi' fields in Ghajnsielem.

 

Malta Christmas Festival 2017 26th - 30th December 2017

Various international bands, majorettes and folk groups will participate in street parades and performances.
