Festas are a regular feature in Malta's calendar of events.

At any time of the year something is happening in Malta and that usually means celebration, fun and merriment. Malta enjoys an events calendar featuring an exciting mix of local and international events. Whatever your particular interest may be, you are certain to find activities to enjoy. Take your pick from performances by international contemporary music stars, classical music concerts and jazz festivals, amongst many others.

Malta's vibrant performing arts scene also offers a surprisingly diverse repertoire of theatre, opera, and dance. Moreover, the Maltese islands play host to an exciting array of international sporting events.

Mediterranea Festival 28th Oct - 8th Nov 2017

This is an annual celebration of culture let off at the very heart of the Mediterranean, on the history laden island of Gozo.
Mythology has it that the charm of this island aided the most beautiful nymph Calypso to halt Ulysses on his journeys and hair-raising quests, to lull him, lure him away from his travels for seven mystical years.

Pumpkin Festival 29th Oct 2017

The aim of the Pumpkin feast is to celebrate one of the products that the farmers of Manikata cultivate with great ability and abundance. The Pumpkin Feast is also an opportunity to buy pumpkins, which can be kept on a window sill all year round and then used for soups, pies and sweets. The farmers will also be selling fresh local vegetables on the day.
This is an activity for all the family, where everyone can find something they like, with regards to food and entertainment.

 

The Malta International Darts Open 2017 14th-16th November 2017

The Malta Darts Association will be organising 'Malta International Darts Open 2017.

 

The Malta International Organ Festival 20th November -8th December 2017

During this now recognised festival it will be possible to hear some of the greatest music written through time for the King of Instruments - the Organ - being performed by world renowned musicians, in the Churches and Cathedrals. Which Malta's heritage can boast.

The First Gozo International Choir Festival will be held as part of the Christmas in Gozo Programme 2017.

 

Bethlehem F'Ghajnsielem 8th December 2017 - 2nd January 2018

Bethlehem f' Ghajnsielem is an animated nativity village spread on 20,000sqm of land. It offers naturalistic reproduction of the environ of Bethlehem and the timeless story of Nativity every December at 'Ta Passi' fields in Ghajnsielem.

Various international bands, majorettes and folk groups will participate in street parades and performances.

Malta Carnival 2018 9th-13th February 2018

Discover Malta's Carnival, which goes back hundreds of years. The Malta Carnival is celebrated in numerous towns and villages but especially in Valletta, Floriana and Nadur Gozo.

 

In Guardia Parade 11th, 18th & 25th February 2017

The IN GUARDIA PARADE is a re-enactment that portrays an authentic event that took place regularly inside Malta’s major fortifications of the Order of St. John. The re-enactment portrays the inspection of the fort and its garrison by the Grand Bailiff of the Order of the Knights of St. John in charge of military affairs.

Good Friday 30th March 2018

Good Friday and Easter are celebrated in Malta in a liturgical and ceremonially prominent manner. On Palm Sunday, one week before Easter, one may assist to the liturgical rites that usher in Holy Week.
