Getting To East Midlands Airport

The airport is located between three big cities in the Midlands: Leicester, Derby and Nottingham, making it a fantastically easy airport to get to by car. The M1, M42 and A50 are all nearby. Journey time by car from Leicester city centre to the airport takes roughly 35 minutes, and just 25 minutes from Derby city centre. If you’re planning on driving to the airport, we recommend you see what discounts are available on parking when you book with our partners APH. You can find information on how to get a discount further down this page.

Skylink buses run from all three cities to the airport 24 hours a day and families planning on taking this mode of travel can get family tickets for as little as £16. It’s incredibly convenient for anyone travelling by rail to the airport as there are no direct rail station stops at the airport.

At The Airport

If there’s anything you forgot to pack before your trip, you might just be able to buy it at the airport. Boots, Dixons, Superdrug and WHSmith have all travel essentials covered, while Worldutyfree will undoubtedly help you find a great deal on cosmetics.

It’s also important to make sure you don’t fly hungry and there are great options for dining after checking in. Frankie & Benny’s, Castle Rock, Pork & Pickle and Burger King will tick the right box for just about anyone, while Grab & Fly has snacks if you’ve left it a little late and are in a hurry.
