Getting To Prestwick Airport
For those driving from the north heading southbound out of Glasgow the M77 heading to A77 is the main route. For anyone driving from the south its best to take the M74 before turning on to the A76. This leads to the town of Ayr and on to the airport.
There is a direct rail service which operates from Glasgow Central Station with an average journey time of 50 minutes (good to know in advance of check in to make sure you get there early). Trains depart from the station three times per hour Monday-Saturday, and twice per hour on Sundays. Passengers can get discounted travel if they show their flight confirmation when purchasing their tickets.
At The Airport
There is duty free shopping available at the airport as well as a WHSmith by the terminal entrance and in the departure lounge.
A Starbucks is also situated before security, with the Elvis Presley bar and The Food Village offering a range of good eating options after security.
The airport operates a no smoking policy in the terminal building.
