During the summer months Qawra Point, at the northern tip of St Paul’s Bay and only a ten minute walk along the seafront from the hotel, is a magnet for tourists during the summer because of its breath taking setting and host of fun beach activities available. You will find jet-skis for hire, dive schools and tour companies selling boat trips to nearby lagoons, dotted along the sandy, white beach.
Take a stroll further down the sea front, along St Paul’s Bay and you will find a handful of Lidos and beach clubs offering tourists a place to cool off in their swimming pools during the hot summer months when temperatures reach the high thirties. Or enjoy a refreshment with a stunning view over the bay and onwards to the Mediterranean. With their delicious selection of fresh Mediterranean foods on offer and trendy lounging areas Lidos are the perfect place to spend an afternoon socialising with friends.
The scenic promenade bordered by palm trees hugs the sea front as it curves around the bay. All the main attractions in Qawra branch nicely from this promenade. A focal point of the promenade is the Qawra Tower which was built in the 17th century as part of a string of 13 communication towers in the area. Today it has been converted to a swimming pool and restaurant. Despite the redesign, the tower maintains many of its original features and is a favourite of locals and tourists alike.
The seafront is the place to be in Qawra in the evenings. Home to a buzzing nightlife scene db San Antonio guests can easily access a variety of pubs and clubs along the main street in the town, close to the hotel. Because of the high numbers of British tourists, as well as the British influence during its reign over the country, it is easy to find British food and traditional British pubs.
For those of you looking to sample some of the local cuisine there are a number of delicious Mediterranean restaurants and trendy wine bars dotted around the sea front, serving freshly caught fish and Mediterranean delights. If you are looking for a quieter time you can escape back to the peace and quiet of the hotel and dine in one of the five themed restaurants, away from the bustle of the town.
