Marsalforn Bars and Clubs
The Best Clubs and Best Bars in Marsalforn
A glass of wine, a perfectly poured glass of beer, an ice cold bottle of water and the sun setting by the bay. It doesn’t get much better than that when you’re staying in Marsalforn with Chevron. Here’s a quick guide to the best bars and clubs in the area.
Firstly it’s good to know that Marsalforn is very much a laid back place. If you’re on the hunt for a crazy night out, you won’t find it here. The top clubbing destination in all of Malta and Gozo is down in St Julians, the unofficial party capital. There are ferries which run in to the wee hours so it’s quite easy to schedule a trip from Gozo to St Julians.
In the area around Calypso Hotel, the focus is very much on taking it easy and enjoying a quiet glass of whatever your preferred tipple is by the bay. The hotel itself has a rooftop bar open throughout the summer months which serves up a mixture of cocktails and bar staples to wet your whistle during the beautiful sunset. We also recommend Il Gabbiano up on St Mary Street on the left side of the bay if you fancy a few light bites and a glass of wine by the water’s edge.
There are also some fantastic vineyards scattered around Gozo that are just a short taxi ride away from Marsalforn. Tal-Massar Winery in Xaghra is renowned as the top spot to learn how underrated Maltese wine is made and you get the chance to taste it right from the cask. Craft beer is also on the rise in Gozo. Lord Chambray Brewery is a tiny micro-brewery just north of Xewkija that has been wowing tourists with a small, but delicious selection of beers.
