Travel in Marsalforn

Public Transport in Marsalforn
If you are going to be staying in Marsalforn there is one very important thing to remember if you plan on using any type of transport to get from A to B: What applies on Malta doesn’t apply in Gozo, and vice versa.

If you’re travelling between the two islands it is good to know that bus passes aren’t valid on either side and taxis don’t go across as well. Getting to and from Malta and Gozo requires taking a short ferry ride that lasts roughly 30 minutes. The ferry departs on average every 45 minutes during peak periods. It costs €4.65 for adults and €1.15 for children.

There are dedicated bus routes for Marsalforn travel to help make getting from Marsalforn to anywhere around the island that much easier. On the occasion that you may be looking to take a bus or two when crossing over to Malta, you should get to know the various bus fares and different types of Malta bus pass you can purchase before travelling. The Hop On Hop Off sightseeing bus is a great way to see the sights of Gozo, an interesting and informative way to get from village to village.

Of course if you don’t want to wait on a bus and would rather make your own way around Gozo, you can hire a car. Gozo car hire rates vary depending on the time of year you’re looking to hire the vehicle and you can see how much a car will be on average by checking our Malta car hire fare table.

Taxis are also very popular considering how small the island is. For anyone getting the ferry across from Malta, you should know that taxi fares to Marsalforn are done so at a fixed rate and you’ll easily be able to see what fares different drivers provide on boards at the terminal. The fixed fare before departure helps ensure that travellers aren’t short changed.
