Assassins Creed filmed in Malta

Assassins Creed, blockbuster released in Dec 2017, was partly filmed in Malta.

The film is set in 15th century Spain during the Spanish Inquisition. Where better to get that historical scenery and backdrop than Valletta and across Malta.
Malta SkylineOver the years Malta has been the setting for many historical film productions such as The Count of Monte Cristo (2002), Troy, Gladiator and who can forget the current drama gripping the world - Game of Thrones.

Not only a popular place for historical film settings, it has also seen filming for more recent popular films such as World War Z and Captain Phillips.

Located near Mellieha you can still find the original set from Popeye filmed in 1980 starring Robin Williams. The set, Popeye's Village, is now a family entertainment complex where you can take boat trips around Anchor Bay and take part in many fun filled activities creating a great family day out.
