Public Transport in Qawra
Public transport is incredibly convenient in Malta. Buses can take you almost anywhere around the island (with a few choice transfers of course). If you’re staying in
Qawra and really want to
see all Malta has to offer, here is handy advice on how to navigate public transport around the island.
Fancy taking a day trip north to visit the smaller island of Gozo? The 221 is the direct bus route up to the ferry terminal. It leaves from the Qawra bus stop just a little but down the road from
Sunny Coast Resort Club and
Qawra Palace with an average journey time of 35 minutes. For guests staying in
Sunflower Hotel, we’d recommend getting the bus from Mwiezeb. The main bus station located in
Bugibba is just a short walk from Qawra and is the ideal place to travel by bus to almost any area of Malta. You can learn more about using public transport by reading our guide to
bus passes in Malta. Chevron highley recommends the
Hop On Hop Off City Sightseeing Bus for a tour of the sights including full informative commentary.
Of course the most convenient way to get anywhere in Malta is by taxi. It’s an incredibly common sight to see white taxi cabs dotted alongside busy streets and attractions in Qawra. Most taxis run on a fixed fare basis. This is where the price of the fare is listed either on a board beside the vehicle or inside, detailing how much it costs to get to any location on the island. This pricing system ensures tourists aren’t short changed when getting a ride.
If you happen to be getting a taxi from the airport upon arrival, you’ll be shown how this system works as you need to pre-pay your fare in the airport terminal before even getting in a taxi.
Hiring a car in Qawra is always a convenient way of getting to see all Malta has to offer. You can pre-book car hire with
