Sliema attracts a wide and varied number of visitors every year because of its excellent location on the Northeast coast of Malta. There are a number of great hotels in Sliema catering to all types of holiday-goer and the weather in Sliema pretty much guarantees year round sunshine (on average you’ll get an unprecedented 12 hours per day in the middle of summer). When you want to enjoy the sun but don’t want to lay by the pool all day, what can do you around town and what Sliema sights are there to see? There are a number of Sliema attractions and places to visit in Sliema Malta and nearby making it perfect for everyone; from families to couples and singles. Sliema is the place to be for cruises, with many cruise tours available all departing from the local ferry port, whether its a cruise round Malta or a trip accross to Comino, its all available here. The sliema ferry port also has regular ferries back and forth to Valletta making for a pleasent trip to the capital Valletta.

For culture lovers, the area has a number of centuries-old churches that are architectural wonders. The Holy Trinity Church is the most popular church in Sliema, while Saint Patrick’s Church (just around the corner from the Diplomat Hotel) and the Parish Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel are also of note.

Anyone looking to indulge in a bit of retail therapy while on holiday will find some great shopping in Sliema at The Point. It’s the largest shopping centre in Malta and has a wide variety of world renowned brands all under one roof with Nike, Gant, Mango and Lacoste just a few of the names you’ll know and be able to get a great deal on. Art lovers can make the most of the Artitude Gallery on Tigne Street. It deals mainly in photography style arts, so those who like a good landscape will appreciate this local art.

If you want to see more of the island, Sliema is perfectly placed to get around and visit all the great beaches, museums, galleries and places of interest in Malta. And don’t forget there are plenty of great tours for you to enjoy as well.
