It can get quite packed down by the bay day and night and with most of the area taken up by fishing boats you may not want to spend a day by the water having to smell fish. There are a few options for beaches near St Julians Malta. The closest sandy beach to the town is St. George’s Bay. A very compact beach at the bay, Balluta Bay is a tiny sandy beach perfect for those staying at Malta Marriott Hotel. It is known for having plenty of bathers down during low tide when the sand is visible. Many locals use it as a mini diving spot, teaching their friends how to dive in water.

If you don’t mind lounging on the rocks, the promenade leading from the bottom of the bay around to Sliema is often a prime spot for catching the sun. The waters around here are incredibly clear and if you don’t mind the noise of the waves, you won’t have a problem lounging here.
