The Best Places to Eat in XaghraThere are a number of places to eat in
Xaghra, and they are mostly found in or around Victory Square, next to the parish church, at the centre of Xaghra.
Victory Square has around 6 separate eating and drinking places providing a wide choice of cuisine and setting. Dvenue and Oleander are both located here and are listed on tripadvisor as the number 2 & 3 best Xaghra Gozo restaurants. There are some great restaurants dotted around Xaghra so you will never be far from a good meal, in fact, there are 6 cafes & Xaghra restaurants that have a certificate of excellence on tripadvisor.
Xaghra’s highest rated restaurant (and rated 4th highest on the island) is away from the centre, located just a few hundred metres down the road from the Blue House. Gianni’s offer a mix of Italian and Thai inspired dishes with a Mediterranean twist. It’s the perfect spot for those who like to dine around sunset, with its prime location offering a full panorama of Xaghra and the sea.
If your looking to relax in front of the TV with a good film, Iz-Zajbra offers pizza and just next door you can rent a DVD from Victor's - this makes for a tasty and low cost evening in.
If you want a change of scenery from eating in Xgahra, if you venture out of Xaghra there are a number of alternatives - your only a 10 minute journey from anywhere on
Gozo! You’ll be spoilt for choice at
Marsalforn Bay as there are a number of fantastic little restaurants dotted around. Pierre’s, Il-Kartell and Piùtrentanove Lounge Bar are popular amongst tourists, offering a good mix of cuisines to suit all tastes. Many of our customers have given great reviews of Otters Bistro, which is located a little further out than the rest, nestled by St. Anthony’s Chapel and offering a true taste of Gozo.
To the west is
Xlendi where again everything is focussed around the bay. Ta' Karolina is the most liked restaurant in the area and offers a good mix of Gozo style food that will keep even the most fussy eaters happy. If you enjoy seafood you’ll want to get a table at The Boat House, which sits right down by the water.
